Greetings Brothers and Sisters,

I would like to introduce myself to you.  My name is Debbie Little, but I go by the nickname of “Cookie”.  You see, there are three Debbie’s in our line right now, so I was given the nickname of Cookie.  I was elected and installed as the Department of Oregon Chaplain on June 13, 2020.  I held the position of Department Conductress last year and have moved up the chairs to Chaplain.

We are moving in uncharted waters with the Coronavirus Pandemic.  I am hopeful that I will be able to visit many of you as the Department Representative during a District meeting.  If we continue to move through the Governor’s phases to contain the pandemic, we should be able to hold in person meetings soon.

As Chaplain, I am the keeper of the Bibles, Altar Cloths, and the Memorial Basket.   It is my responsibility to send a sympathy card to our members or their family if there is a death or send a get-well card for major illnesses or surgeries.  I also have the responsibility of following ritual with an opening and closing prayer for our meetings.

I look forward to sharing my duties with you each month with an article in the newsletter.  I hope my articles will serve as a little guidance for those new Chaplains who were elected for the ensuing year.

Loyally,

Cookie Little
