Greetings Brothers & Sisters,
It was wonderful to see some of you at the Training Academies. I hope those of you who were able to attend garnered a lot of information and went home with some wonderful ideas. Remember to SWAP (Share, Wonderful, Auxiliary, Programs) ideas. When you share an Auxiliary Community Outreach project in your report to me, I will share the project through this article forum so all of us will benefit.
Since COVID limited the number of folks who could attend a Training Academy, I have received the okay to put together a virtual Training Academy. Right now, I am coordinating with the other Program Chairmen and finding a couple of dates that work for everyone. You do not need to have a computer or Smart Phone to attend the virtual training, just a good old landline phone. Granted, you will only be able to participate by audio, but you will still hear good ideas. If you are interested, please email me so I can get an idea of how many would attend.
There were two questions I was asked during the Training Academies that I needed clarification from my National Ambassador to answer.
- Question#1 – Donations from Operation Homefront (Dollar Tree) for school supplies for military kids – Is that Community Outreach or Veterans & Family Support?
- Answer – Veterans & Family Support
- Question #2 – Our foodbank will only let us make monetary donations, does that count under Community Outreach?
- Answer – No, Community Outreach does not include/count monetary donations. Volunteers and hours are the only things counted in this program.
Please stay healthy and send me your reports. I cannot wait to see what you are doing.
